Studio Visit: Daniel Butterworth

Daniel Butterworth is an artist based in Kyneton/Taungurung Country.

His studies have taken him from the likes of sign writing to his current medium of painting with house acrylic on cardboard. His works have seen him in notable prizes such as the Archibald, Doug Moran, Arthur Guy, The Lester Prize and the BP Portrait Award. Having painted for over 30 years, Daniel continues to love the art form of painting the human figure.

“My studio is in a beautiful historic town that gets really cold in winter, really hot in summer and everything in between. I love challenging myself with brushwork detail and size, as well as with emotion.” – Daniel Butterworth.
