Designers Brief: Narjia Brownlie

Green, founder and director of Geelong-based Greenhouse Interiors creates bespoke looks for these five works of art.

Narjia Brownlie, rare shiny carousel, 2021. Fine art acrylic on 310gsm smooth cotton rag, 76 x 56cm. $3,100. Courtesy: the artist.

Whimsical work like Narjia Brownlie’s rare shiny carousel, with all of its curves, would make a powerful impact as a part of a gallery hang in an entryway. To accentuate the softer colours, a geometric blue and white lamp by Kaz Ceramics (available through Greenhouse Interiors) atop the beautiful stamp console table from grazia&co made from mixed materials would be a lovely welcome home each day. A grouping of interesting objects in various shapes, such as the Dinosaur Designs Small Resin Horn Vase in aqua, would add to the visual interest, with the inclusion of the Chromatic Rose Hall Runner from Halcyon Lake for texture and comfort. Finish the look with oversized florals to soften the space and hero the artwork.
