Designer’s Brief: Roy B Wilkins

We invite a designer to create a room to best display each of the four artworks we’ve selected. This issue, industry-leading interior designer Greg Natale takes up the challenge.

“I can see Children’s Home by Roy B Wilkins above a work space in a home office or study, and my Blitz Crystal Bookends, with their round onyx crystal orbs, offer a similar playful geometry as this piece. But a study also needs a desk and a great office chair, which is why this handsome, modern office desk by Karakter is well suited to the very modern, stylish look we are striving for. Next to the bookends, I can picture the geometrical, colour-blocked design on my Pierre Lacquer Box, another office-appropriate accessory to place on the desk. Finally, the Pollock Executive Chair by Knoll in this textured blue Lagoon Diva fabric gives off cool and contemporary, well suited to the atmosphere of this interior, with the blue chair and the desk’s red frame complementing the colours in this painting perfectly.”
