Studio Visit: Trish Crampton

Sydney/eora-based Trish Crampton completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts in Printmaking at Sydney College of the Arts and a Diploma in Visual Arts Education. Her still lifes hero colour, shape and tone, with an intention to bring calmness to their audience.

My studio is in the good room of our 1880s sandstone house in Willoughby, Sydney. I work flat on a trestle table which is actually an old dunny door my Dad cut to size and restored for me. My studio is filled with vignettes and beautiful objects all with a personality, a story and a history. When composed together, these everyday objects create a dialogue between each other and in turn with the viewer, like a group of friends gossiping together.
