Shane Andrew Vandort is a self-taught multi-disciplinary artist creating from the “organised chaos” of his studio in Melbourne/ Naarm. With a background in tattooing, he was intially attracted to dark-toned portraiture with a surreal edge. Unafraid to experiment with mediums, he enjoys mixing them up in different combinations. In 2022 he began working with resin and sculpting, focusing his attention on nostalgic subjects such as fruit bowls and icecreams – like the “boomy” from his childhood – which bring a pop of colour to his practice.

/ There is something about fruit bowls that just makes me full in spirit. Studying how different people present their fruit was my inspiration around this project. I really do believe fruit is nature’s medicine. /
