Studio Visit: Cynthia Howard


Cynthia Howard is an Indonesian-Australian artist currently working in Sydney. she holds a Bachelor of Fine Art (Visual Art) and a Bachelor of Fine Art (Acting) and her practice focuses on storytelling and relationships. the artist uses traditional painting methods with nods to surrealism, cubism and other artistic genres. Her concepts come from stream-of-consciousness, appearing as free-flowing lines in her colourful, semi-abstract figures, or as surrealist undertones in her figurative compositions. Sometimes she combines realism and abstraction in a work. Howard’s interest in self determination brings life philosophy, psychology, and spirituality to her practice.


/ My paintings deal predominately with the richness of our internal world and musings about how we radiate energy and intention to our outer world. /
