Studio Visit: Anna Ward

After many adventures, study and travel, New Zealand/Aoearoa-born artist, Anna Ward resides now in Robina on the Gold Coast/Yugambeh with her family. It is here she works from her home studio creating large works full of expressive mark making and layers.

Completing a Fine Arts degree, a Diploma in Teaching (Secondary) and Master of Art Therapy, Anna now works as the founder of Art Therapy Gold Coast alongside those with psychosocial and physical disabilities, assisting them to achieve their therapeutic goals through creative intervention and expression.

“There are so many wonderful things about working in my studio. Having my dog Felix snoozing at my feet, art therapy clients can come in and work within the space, and I can paint at any hour. My mind is always thinking of art in some capacity so it’s a privilege to venture into the studio wearing my slippers and start painting whenever I feel the urge. Creativity doesn’t abide by business hours, after all.” – Anna Ward
