JIM ONE’s work Untitled 67 shows sensitivity over the commercialism of our society. The artist employs many great elements from the pop movement, to create a tight composition, accompanied by a great sense of colour. Humour and sarcasm may be sensed here as well, though this is depicted in a subtle way. I feel a continuous conversation coming between the subject and the viewer. I look forward to seeing more of JIM ONE’s work in the future.

The artist’s imaginative and playful spirit is identified in the confident stride of the figure stepping out of a two dimensional purple vortex. The bold application of purple is a departure from the artist’s signature colour palette of red, blue, and green. Perhaps signifying transformation and stepping across into a new realm of creative adventure.
