KAB Gallery, Terrigal

Heidi Mullender’s oil painting is picturesque and oozes a sense of peace and beauty. The scene is drenched in warmth and looking at it I am immediately transported to the sunny beachside location surrounded by the pretty wildflowers. The amount of depth and layering evident in the foreground, midground and background areas really allows the viewer to get lost within this work. This is a particularly joyful artwork which would brighten any room and lift viewers’ spirits.

GEORGIA HUESTIS

The Affordable Art Fair, Melbourne

A delightful walk in full bloom, this work by Heide provides many view points and charmed vignettes. As the path guides one to the right and into abundant wilderness, the viewer’s eyes are just as quickly drawn leftward to a far coastal horizon. As illustrated in the apt title, this painting feels like a fresh spring walk. Blue skies, fresh flowers, ocean lapping and the promise of something unknown yet alluringly familiar around the bend.

SALLI COPPIN

Margaret River Gallery, Margaret River

Heidi has captured the feeling of a walk in the springtime with this vibrant and light-filled work. The viewer notices the textures and colours of the vegetation first, and is then drawn into the path. The distant view of the expansive coastline entices you to take the path and explore. Heidi has captured the pure sense of pleasure and discovery of walking in nature. This work arouses the senses and is a perfect way to bring the outdoors indoors.
