In her final year of an Advanced Diploma in Ceramics at Hornsby TAFE, Sydney, Serena Owen’s practice involves slowing down and taking her time. “The meditative quality of the making… creates a feeling of calm I want to share,” she says. The patterned surfaces are inspired by cherished heirlooms of crochet, knitting, and sewing crafts from her grandmother and great aunt.
