Conor Parsons’ practice seeks to challenge heteronormative stereotypes by creating tensions between mythopoetic notions of masculinity and more modern understandings. “My practice aims to show the need for males to release pent up energy, doing so through carnival type moments that allow for mateship and intimacy,” he says. Parsons is studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts at UNSW Art & Design, Sydney.
