/On viewing this piece by Skye LaRocca, I felt I was taken into a dream; a warm, serene, grand place. I wanted this to be represented by creating an airy space that inspired reflection and thoughtfulness with an almost holy feeling. I created this vast entrance way with a 4-metre stud height for grandness and scale. I then added tall archways leading through to living spaces. It was important to me to blend this sense of grandeur with my own design aesthetic, adding a thicker wall cavity, lined with timber and a custom timber and stone staircase leading to a bench seat under the art to sit and pause.
