In Hollie Elena’s Dancing With Delilah Pt. III, there appears to be a chair belonging to the Bauhaus design movement and a woman dressed in clothing reminiscent of traditional Far East styles, though interpreted in a contemporary way. While I was designing this open living area, I tried to reflect upon the style of the woman I saw in the artwork. The Cesca chair I used also belongs to the Bauhaus movement. Its mid-century patterns speak to the designs within the artwork, grounding Elena’s piece as a necessity within the space — the room would not be the same without it./
