Naarm-based painter and textile artist Sienna Barton seeks to transform anxious energy into tangible works of art. Recently graduating with a Masters of Fine Arts from RMIT University, Melbourne her artist practice is often “obsessive and time-consuming,” she says. Using discarded materials from local clothing labels and her own  wardrobe, Barton’s pieces are considered and embodied objects. These objects subvert the traditional form and utilitarianism of a vase to stand alone as vessels of decorative significance.
