Drawing meaning from the meaningless and beauty from waste, Emily Parker critiques the role of plastic in our contemporary lives. Grounded in an engagement with deep time and the strata record of the Earth, Parker’s works index the vast pollutant that is plastic, framing it as a substance that will forever identify the geological age of the Anthropecene. Parker is in her final year of a Bachelor of Fine Art/Bachelor of Business at Queensland College of Art, Griffith University.
