Gallery Panel: Kym Lee

Art Edit’s curatorial experts offer their take on Kym Lee's work.

The work: Kym Lee, Fragility, 2023. Acrylic on canvas, 45 x 60cm. Courtesy: the artist.

Kym Lee’s Fragility suggests contemplative ennui. The artist explores the intricacies of the human psyche articulated in the form of an animal, inviting the viewer to contemplate our own relationship to the world around us.

A lovely use of technique in acrylics and large elements of unhindered negative space draw you into the gaze, which is the central focus of the composition.
