Studio Visit: Kate Owen

Kate Owen works on Kamilaroi land with acrylic paint, graphite, pencil and oil sticks to create works with dimension and pops of colour.

Taking her cues from nature, she looks to plants to provide unpredictable and surprising lines, forms and colours.

“I live in Northern NSW near a small town called Croppa Creek. I am blessed with space so in 2018 I built myself a studio. It has huge windows and is surrounded by endless acres of undulating farming country. It is a perfect creative oasis very much off the beaten track. I love the isolation of it which allows me to leave daily life behind and just create.”
