Merging inner and outer worlds, Jessie Nok Wai Hui’s work offers an alternate view of time and space. Her practice in oil and ink painting investigates dualities and representations of self, her skilled rendering of undulating forms testament to the time spent completing each work. Like trying to catch clouds, our grasp on where her work begins and ends is assisted only by a small white focal point in her middle of the canvas – a helping hand in otherwise unchartable territory. Born in Hong Kong, Nok Wai Hui recently graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts with Honours from the University of New South Wales, Sydney.
