There is a wonderful immediacy and looseness in Edward Inchbold’s ‘Postcard For Bec’. Gestural brushstrokes in an earthy palette make for an interesting composition; a moody abstracted landscape that floats between viewpoints. Somewhat of a newcomer to painting, Inchbold’s spontaneity and unencumbered approach is refreshing.

In this work the warmth of the intuitive colour palette in distinctive Australian hues and the subtle silhouettes of avian life in flight conjures fond memories of being immersed in nature under a clear blue sky. The artist’s exuberant strokes inspire feelings of joie de vivre and celebrates the generous embrace of mother nature in all in its glory.
