ART EDIT’S PANEL OF DESIGN EXPERTS ARE BURSTING WITH IDEAS ABOUT HOW TO HANG AND STYLE THIS ARTWORK IN YOUR HOME.
Feral Fellows. Oil on canvas, 48 x 48cm.
Brett Mickan Interior Design, Sydney
This work cleverly combines Gill Pedrana’s love of figurative and surreal with a graphic composition and a painterly use of colour. I would frame it in a simple oak frame and hang it on a dark coloured wall, perhaps a tone of deep aubergine. Add a curved Terracotta upholstered sofa and a blush lacquered cocktail table; then sit it all on a plush caramel coloured wool and silk cut pile rug.

This work is calmly colourful. It exudes a feeling of playfulness. The soft pastel colours make it the perfect artwork to hang on a wall in a light and airy bedroom. The composition is intriguing as half the animal disappears behind an ambiguous tree which probes the viewer’s imagination. This can be indulged in whilst enjoying a morning cup of tea in bed… when there’s no need for rushing off to the office!
