Colour and texture seem to flow down the canvas in this energetic composition. I would hang it in a dining room with hues favouring the deeper tones of the work, allowing it to be the hero. Walls in a deep ochre colour with an aubergine wool rug would be perfect. Add upholstered chairs in claret velvet and a large wooden dining table in a warm caramel stain. Then, for a bit of whimsy, a beautiful vintage pink Murano glass chandelier.

This piece evokes a sense of optimism and joy through its use of bold, textural brush work and clean colour. The texture creates interest and depth while the fine gold linework adds a layer of subtlety and delicacy. In a family dining room, this piece would add energy and, according to colour theory, would also stimulate the appetite due to the predominance of red. Flowers for You would work well in a light, bright room layered with smoked oak chevron floors and stunningly simple, oversized Noguchi paper pendants.

The vibrant, fresh colours and broad brush strokes of this floral bouquet result in a strong, dominant painting that would be the focal point of a room. I particularly like the band of white left at the base of the painting to balance the image and the dripping of diluted paint from the already wilting petals. It would be a good addition to a commercial space where people need to be put at ease – its uplifting vibe may help!
