ART EDIT PRESENTS A SELECTION OF ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONIST ARTISTS AT THE TOP OF THEIR GAME.
Energetic and emotional, Joanne Duffy’s works explore landscapes through the lens of memory – what is it that stays with us? The finished products are vague and striking interpretations of the Australian landscape. Whispers of land, sea and sky stir unique memories within the viewer. Although Joanne occasionally draws on sketches and photos for reference, much of her work is started without, with no particular intent or direction. “I enjoy a creative process where I avoid planning a piece from the start. I like the characteristics of chance, randomness and spontaneity,” says Joanne.
