Best of Abstract Expressionism: Caroline Christie-Coxon
ART EDIT PRESENTS A SELECTION OF ABSTRACT EXPRESSIONIST ARTISTS AT THE TOP OF THEIR GAME.
Guided by intuition and instinct, artist Caroline Christie-Coxon allows process and action to dominate her practice. “I anticipate composition but allow change continuously, and let the paint guide me. My process is intuitive and instinctive mostly,” says the artist. “What I create are painterly events or happenings, captured and suspended on canvas.” Caroline is inspired by a number of well-known abstract expressionists and action painters including Jackson Pollock, Franz Kline, Willem de Kooning and Norman Bluhm. “Like them ,I aim to create artwork that encourages self reflection and interest within each viewer,” says the artist.
