Sancha Prowse is an award-winning artist, professional singer, all-round creative soul, and relative of cherished Australian watercolourists Ruth Tuck and Mervyn Smith. She works from her studio in Sydney’s Inner West, often in plein air and always surrounded by music. Sancha’s floral paintings portray the glorious forms and colours found in the natural world. Not limited to just this one subject matter, her work reflects her daily life, often depicting musicians at play, a vase of flowers, luscious beach scenes, tranquil vistas of the Hawkesbury River area, and scenes around Sydney. Her distinctive painting style, while impressionistic, also exudes design-like qualities, and her recent work has seen an abundance of colourful acrylic and mixed media on watercolour paper.
