Art of the ocean and nature of the coast areas, drawn from inspiration on the path to Little Cove at Noosa Heads. This painting is my interpretation of what I see in the ocean, plant life and birds of the coastal rainforest areas of eastern Australia. I walk through the national parks along our coasts, observing the shoreline and the shapes of leaves and pods of the trees as I look for patterns in each exquisite piece. The flow of the ocean’s currents, the bold curves of the rocks, the variety of curling and spiky leaves sprouting from crevices or from kinked, sensual, sculptural tree trunks – I paint all of the feelings that these sights and sounds create, in a landscape of random colours and patterns bursting with life. The sound of the ocean beyond the trees, the smell of salt air, the sounds of the birds and the breeze through the trees all inspire my style of vibrant coastal expressionism.
