Spray paint on card and aluminium 60cm clock.
I painted this clock after visiting the beautiful graffitied lanes of Melbourne. The never ending layers that build up provide a frenetic, yet somehow delightful kaleidoscope of colours. I am intrigued by the different marks left by different visitors, all with different stories. This work is an attempt to show the feeling I get looking at these walls.
The tags are my own and include “smile’, “Unity” and “Beautiful”, which carries on to some of my other works. I always want to create art that gives a positive feeling and although it comes from gritty, city places I feel this work makes a space a cool place to be.
The spray paint and acrylic pens are the same that an artist would use to graffiti a wall or a train.
