Description
Life in the studio with Raphael and the kids is full of make-believe and games but real life is not. Raph works hard to bring up his children in a positive way. Nature, light and art bring life to this photograph. Raph stares toward us, the beacon father standing tall and honest. His children search beyond the dimensions of this photo’s frame to show the child as dreamer. This composition is reminiscent of the Renaissance and his namesake Raphael.
This portrait photograph was taken as part of series of work entitled Connected. It was a finalist in the National Photographic Portrait Prize 2014 and the Doug Moran Contemporary Photographic Prize 2014.
