Description
Quilt was inspired by watching clouds hovering over the landscape around my home, casting ethereal quilt-like shadows on the forested hills, blue waters and city below.
Quilt is printed on a beautiful translucent paper called Usu Kuchi, made from Kozo fibres. Its highly absorbent properties make it perfect for layering coloured inks.
Printing with multiple layers of oil-based inks over an initial layer of silver powder pigment creates a luminosity that shifts and changes depending on your viewing point.
Each print has 5 layers and 11 individual lino impressions.
As a hand-printed linocut, each print in the edition may vary slightly from the others.
